Elle aime se faire appeler \u00ab bobologue \u00bb. C&#8217;est en <strong>r\u00e9animation p\u00e9diatrique<\/strong>, o\u00f9 elle a fait son clinicat, que Chantal Wood a commenc\u00e9 \u00e0 s&#8217;int\u00e9resser \u00e0 la fa\u00e7on de <strong>calmer les douleurs des enfants<\/strong>. De 1989 \u00e0 1994, elle a dirig\u00e9 l&#8217;unit\u00e9 de r\u00e9animation p\u00e9diatrique polyvalente \u00e0 l&#8217;h\u00f4pital Saint-Vincent-de-Paul, \u00e0 Paris. Elle a travaill\u00e9 ensuite \u00e0 l&#8217;h\u00f4pital Cochin o\u00f9 elle a c\u00f4toy\u00e9 le <strong>docteur Jean Bruxelle, son mentor, qui lui a appris &#8220;ce qu&#8217;\u00e9tait la douleur&#8221;<\/strong>. Pr\u00e9c\u00e9d\u00e9e d&#8217;une excellente r\u00e9putation de responsable de service, elle est arriv\u00e9e \u00e0 l&#8217;h\u00f4pital Robert-Debr\u00e9 (AP-HP) en 1998 pour y cr\u00e9er l&#8217;unit\u00e9 d&#8217;\u00e9valuation et de traitement de la douleur avec l&#8217;Agence r\u00e9gionale de sant\u00e9. Chantal Wood int\u00e8gre en 2013 le <strong>Centre d\u2019\u00c9tude et de Traitement de la Douleur de Limoges<\/strong> dont elle sera <strong>nomm\u00e9e responsable seulement deux ann\u00e9es apr\u00e8s son arriv\u00e9e, en 2015<\/strong>. <strong>Son expertise et sa notori\u00e9t\u00e9, tant dans le domaine de la douleur que de l\u2019hypnose m\u00e9dicale<\/strong> l\u2019ont rapidement amen\u00e9 \u00e0 collaborer avec le Pr Rigoard. <strong>Gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 elle<\/strong>, les patients du CHU de Poitiers peuvent d\u00e9sormais \u00eatre i<strong>mplant\u00e9s de dispositifs de neurostimulation m\u00e9dullaire sous hypnose m\u00e9dicale<\/strong>.
